Shooting victim arrested for possession of handgun

A 19-year-old man was found shot and critically wounded late Thursday near Cottman Avenue and the Roosevelt Boulevard, police said Friday.

Officers called to the area at 10:40 p.m. found the victim in a driveway behind homes on Revere Street with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was arrested for the shooting, but the victim was placed under arrest because he had a handgun on him when found, police said. An investigation is continuing.
